Spyware Terminator FAQ

Can I translate Spyware Terminator into my language?

We strive to make Spyware Terminator accessible for both English and non-English speaking users. If you would like to help us translate Spyware Terminator into your language, please follow the instructions given below.
To translate Spyware Terminator into your language, follow these steps:

1. Extract the "english.cab" file in the "Languages" subfolder (../Spyware Terminator/languages).
2. Translate the texts within the "language.txt" file.
Texts are in the following format: item_name=text. Translate only the part that comes after =.
For example: MainForm_btnRSSettings_Text=Settings -> you would only translate the word "Settings" that comes after =. Save the language.txt file in UTF-8 format.
Important: DO NOT RENAME THE FILE!
3. Translate the RTF files and edit them in WordPad.
Please do not edit the files in MS Word.
4. Edit the items in the "language.inf" file.
name = language name
lanSysID=language system number. (Locate the number as described below.)
author=name of person who translated the file
contact=author's email address (optional)
version=version of translation
sortID=order in which the language should be displayed in the list of languages
5. Add all the files into the cab, name the cab according to your language name and copy the cab into the "Languages" folder.
6. Run the application and check the text. Be sure that the text isn't too long and that it displays correctly.
7. If it works, send us the translation and we will add it to the application.
If you are an experienced user, you may edit the item lanSysID within the language.inf file.

More information on how to find this number can be found at http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/intl/nls_238z.asp

You can find your ID in the table and write a lowerbite in decimal format to lanSysID.

To edit a cabinet that is already created for your language proceed as if you were creating a new translation.
